Document required to obtain EPR Registration Mandatory for Plastic Waste

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under the Govt. of India makes EPR authorization mandatory for manufacturers/importers/producer’s plastic waste, e-waste, and battery waste management. The EPR Certificate is obligatory for the Indian market to pursue E-waste management for operating electrical products to manage the E-waste of products. The main aim of EPR rules into ensure minimizing the pollution caused due to plastic waste and e-waste. 

The EPR Registration Applicability on Plastic Waste Management

The central government has proposed new rules for Extending Producers Responsibility for plastic packaging under Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016. EPR has put the financial and physical obligation on the manufacturers/importer including producers, and brand-owners for the reuse, treatment, disposal, or recycling of the products.

  1. To pay a fee to a central corpus that will be spent for plastic waste management; 
  2. To buy that shall be established for the purpose to offset the plastic waste generated; or
  3. To participate and pay to establish producer responsibility organizations (PROs) for collecting and managing post-consumer plastic waste.

What are the Documents Required for EPR Authorization Registration?

  1. Must have Corporate Identification Number Certificate.
  2. GST certificates and Rent Agreement
  3. The Aadhar Card and PAN card of the authorized signatory is necessary
  4. A Letterhead in pdf format.
  5. BIS License
  6. A soft copy of the booklet that contains product details and description.
  7. Declaration from Board for authorized signatory.
  8. IEC Certificate
  9. In case of imports – the EC Code (Only in case of imports)
  10. The product details requiring year-wise import 
  11. Original Letter Head.
  12. The number of products positioned in the Indian market.
  13. Estimation of E-waste
